Greater Miami Jewish Federation, JCRC, RAGM Decry Recent Spate of Terror Attacks in Israel
The Greater Miami Jewish Federation, its Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami (RAGM) decry the recent spate of of terror attacks in Israel, which have resulted in the death of 11 innocent people over the past week and a half.
The violence appears to be, at least in part, an effort to disrupt the budding normalization and cooperation between Israel and many Muslim and Arab countries that was initiated by the Abraham Accords and continued most recently at the historic Negev Summit. We offer our condolences to the victims’ families and condemn violent extremism in all forms. It is disappointing but not surprising that Israel’s residents must once again brace themselves for additional attacks as we approach the season of Passover, Easter and Ramadan – one of the holiest times of the year. While Israeli Jews were the targets of these terrorists, among those murdered were an Arab Christian, a Druze Israeli, and two Ukrainian migrant workers.
We unequivocally support Israel’s right to defend itself, including its government’s necessary decision to place the country on high alert. Israel must do everything in its power to keep its civilians safe and to ensure that the terror attacks do not escalate. We extend our prayers for a speedy recovery to all those injured and mourn all of the innocent lives lost during this senseless bloodshed.
