Federation Helps Recovery Efforts for Hurricane Ian

As Southwest Florida begins the long road to recovery in the wake of Hurricane Ian, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation is working closely with our partners on the ground and other Florida federations to support those impacted by the catastrophic storm. Earlier this week, individuals from Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center loaded up their cars with water, shelf-stable food and cleaning supplies to hand-deliver the items to the Jewish Federation of Lee and Charlotte Counties. The critically needed items will help restock its food pantry, which has been opened to the community. Additionally, we joined The Jewish Federations of North America and the three other South Florida federations to provide a total of 2,200 kosher meals for dinner on Erev Yom Kippur and for break fast the next day. We are also assisting Yedidim and several Chabads that are offering hot kosher meals to the local community. We are grateful to the hundreds of donors who have already generously contributed to our Emergency Relief Fund. If you have not yet donated, you may do so by clicking here.
