The Impact of the Israel Emergency Fund: Part Two in a Series

In the aftermath of October 7, through the Israel Emergency Fund (IEF) our Federation and partners across North America and Israel have provided an immediate lifeline of relief services to address the acute needs of Israeli evacuees, victims of terror and their families, and soldiers. These needs include cash for essentials including clothing, transportation and other critical care; formula and diapers for infants; hygiene products for female soldiers; pastoral care, funerals and shiva/mourning support; safe places to stay; education and day care for evacuated children and more. Click here to hear from Rachel how the help she received made her “feel calmer and stable.” Of $847 million pledged nationally to the IEF as of June 3, $219 million has already been allocated to 395 Israeli nonprofits for lifeline services, providing, among other things:

 

  • 1.2 million hot meals
  • Essential food assistance to 285,486 individuals
  • Food cards to 22,528 Israelis valued at nearly 14 million NIS (approximately $3.7 million)
  • Basic needs packages to 164,736 Israelis
  • Spiritual support for 11,200 Israelis suffering loss
