Mazal tov to the University of Florida (UF) Hillel for being honored with the Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Innovation Award during last month’s Hillel International Global Assembly in Dallas! The achievement recognizes the best Jewish innovations created on campus that are bold, unique and impactful on the student body.
As Israel prepares for its 75th anniversary with much excitement and fanfare, we are putting the finishing touches on our Israel 75 Miami Mega Mission, taking place April 20-27. With less than 100 days to go before we come together in Jerusalem, time is running out to register for what will surely be the celebration of a lifetime.
Miami’s Jewish women are leading the way in philanthropy, and together they will celebrate the impact of their giving at The Women’s Event, taking place on Wednesday, January 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Emanuel Luxury Venue in Miami Beach.

Students entering their sophomore and junior years of high school are invited to learn about the Stephen Muss Impact Fellowship, a program that offers $15,000 scholarships to next year’s Alexander Muss High School in Israel (AMHSI).
The Miami Jewish Film Festival (MJFF), the largest festival of its kind in the world, is offering closed captioning for 16 English-language feature films premiering online through its virtual festival, running January 13-25, 2023.
Federation’s Women Amutot Committee recently awarded its 2023 round of grants, committing more than $330,000 to 22 nonprofit organizations that focus on the needs and welfare of women and girls in Israel by addressing economic and social empowerment, protection against and prevention of violence, and leadership development.
Federation is allocating $100,000 for programs that address nutritional support and food insufficiency in Israel. These programs include Leket Israel, the country’s largest food bank and food rescue network, which redirects surplus produce and meals to a network of 260 nonprofits serving more than 175,000 needy Israelis.
In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach will present two virtual events on January 26 and 27 that explore Jewish life during the Shoah.
