News From the Greater Miami Jewish Federation

Thanks to your generous donations to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign, 1,700 Jewish campers from more than 30 countries are enjoying immersive, inspiring Jewish experiences this summer—and every summer—at Camp Szarvas.

Federation, Friends of Israel Scouts and the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center (MARJCC), came together to form a Miami chapter of Tzofim (Israeli Scouts), which will launch this fall.

In anticipation of a July 13 performance in Miami by Pink Floyd’s co-founder Roger Waters, Federation has published an ad and online resources regarding his vile messages of anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism and hatred.

A group of 41 young adults ages 22-26 recently returned to Miami from a whirlwind Taglit-Birthright Israel trip.The 10-day journey, a gift from the Birthright Israel Foundation and the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, included tours of historic and culturally significant sights, in addition to a number of local Federation-funded programs and agencies.

This week and next, more than 70 campers at Miami’s three Jewish community centers (JCCs) are experiencing a hands-on robotics summer camp, led by the award-winning Israeli Yerucham Science Center.

Thanks to your generosity and commitment, Create a Jewish Legacy (CJL) now counts on $46 million in estimated expected gifts to Miami’s Jewish community.
