Two Virtual Events Will Commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day
In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach will present two virtual events on January 26 and 27 that explore Jewish life during the Shoah. The Memorial recommends “Music and the Holocaust with Dr. James Grymes,” January 26 at 7 p.m. on Zoom for adults interested in learning about the relationship of music to the Holocaust; the meaning music came to hold for Nazi victims; and much more. Grymes is a critically acclaimed author and Professor of Musicology at the University of North Carolina. Click here to register for the event. “Surviving the Holocaust as a Teenage Boy: Firsthand Testimony With Holocaust Survivor Saul Blau,” January 27 at 10 a.m. on Zoom, is appropriate for students in grades 5-12. Blau, who survived internment in Auschwitz, where his parents and sister perished, now resides in Bal Harbour and volunteers as a docent at the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach. Click here to register for the program. For both events, Zoom access information will be sent upon registration and advance registration is required.
