Kavod Shef Supports Holocaust Survivors
Federation continues to support Holocaust Survivors through our collaboration with KAVOD Survivors of the Holocaust Emergency Fund (SHEF) coalition. The national initiative serves as a bright light of assistance for Miami’s Survivor community. All funds are used as quickly as possible, with few restrictions, and directed toward emergency services that address unmet urgent needs including medical, dental and vision care; transportation; home care and financial aid such as help paying for rent, utilities and home repairs. This past year, Federation, working with our primary human services partner, Jewish Community Services (JCS) of South Florida, Kavod Shef and Seed the Dream Foundation provided an additional $400,000 in services and support to more than 320 Survivors. Kavod Shef and Seed the Dream provide 1:1 matching funding. Miami-Dade Holocaust Survivors in need of emergency services and support may contact JCS at 305.576.6550.
