Mayor of Yerucham Recognized as a Forbes “Power Woman”

A hearty mazal tov to Tal Ohana, mayor of Federation partner city Yerucham, who was recently named one of Forbes Israel 2019 Power Women. At 35 years old, Ohana is the first woman ever to serve as mayor of the city. With an eye on helping Yerucham transition from traditional industries, she’s promoting economic growth through science, medicine and technology. Ohana is one of a handful of women taking the political reins in Israel, including Dr. Einat Kalisch Rotem, who was elected mayor of Haifa last year.
