#NoHateMiami on National Day of Hate

A Message from the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Its Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC)

Over the past several weeks a handful of known antisemitic, white supremacist and neo-Nazi groups have encouraged their followers to participate in a “National Day of Hate” tomorrow, February 25. The event is meant as a call to action for followers to conduct in-person propaganda efforts across the United States. The antisemitic activity will likely include in-person demonstrations, flyering efforts, stickering, banner drops and vandalism.

Miami’s Jewish community will not be intimidated by hate! We encourage you to go about your normal day tomorrow and to be as loudly and proudly Jewish as you always are. If you wish to speak out against antisemitism, white supremacy and the National Day of Hate, we encourage you to post to social media with the hashtag #NoHateMiami.

At this time, we are not aware of any specific, credible threats of violence to the Jewish community. However, we encourage you to be vigilant for non-violent in-person demonstrations, flyering, stickering, laser projections, banner drops and vandalism. If you witness any of this activity, do not confront the individuals or share their hateful messages on social media. Ensure you move to a safe place and then contact law enforcement as well as our Office of Community Security at ocs@gmjf.org.
