Repair the World New Fellows Help Welcome 5783
Repair the World – Miami (RTW), an organization committed to social justice through community service and learning, will kick off a new year of activities with a Meet the Fellows Shabbat dinner this evening, September 23 at 7 p.m., at Naomi’s Garden in Miami. The event will connect the local RTW team with volunteers — both familiar and new — and mobilize them to pursue activities that strengthen the fabric of our community. Partnering with Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center, Miami RTW fellows and volunteers participate in hands-on service projects, from assembling and distributing food packages at Federation’s monthly Free Kosher Food Distribution Drive-Thrus and serving meals at Camillus House to assisting in urban gardening projects. This year, RTW Miami City Director Jacki Altman, Senior Program Associate David Weitzman and Senior Fellow Bevy Daniel are joined by First-Year Fellows Delayna Feuerzeig, Emma Nissim and Jake Rider. “We seek to mobilize volunteers to pursue a more just world through service and social-justice learning,” Altman explained. “Action and learning go hand-in-hand as we strive to build a stronger, more equitable Miami.” For more information and reservations for tonight’s dinner, click here.
