Federation Helps Secure Over $2.6 Million in Security Grants
This past year, Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and the Office of Community Security (OCS) helped Miami’s Jewish institutions receive 19 grants totaling nearly $2.7 million from the federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program. Grants can be used for security improvements such as fencing and cameras, as well as security personnel and training exercises. Since the program’s inception over 15 years ago, Miami-Dade County has received more than $15 million in funding for security grants. Planning for the next grant cycle has already begun. As part of its ongoing commitment to keep our local Jewish organizations safe and secure, JCRC and OCS staff are available to conduct site visits, write risk assessments to identify security needs, distribute grant-writing resources and review applications in advance of their submission. Please reach out to communityrelations@gmjf.org for more information and assistance.
