Season for Giving Helps Community Members Have a Happy Holiday
What do you get when 150 volunteers give back 600 hours of their time? This is not a trick question, but the result of Federation’s Jewish Volunteer Center 14th Annual Season for Giving, which took place from December 14 to December 23. From North Miami to Homestead and everywhere in between, community members worked together to give back to Miami’s underserved populations. Volunteer opportunities included food drives, gift wrapping, toy distributions and holiday parties. These efforts fed more than 700 families, wrapped more than 400 gifts and distributed over 1,000 toys. Most importantly, they made a difference in the lives of hundreds of individuals celebrating the joy of the holiday season. Federation's Jewish Community Relations Council and Repair the World helped organize the community events.
