Seven Months Later, Federation Continues Support of Miami Jewish Community
Seven months later, members of Miami’s Jewish community are still suffering. And seven months later, Federation continues to support those who are experiencing the effects of the coronavirus crisis including income loss, food insufficiency, mental health challenges and numerous other hardships. Since March, through the Crisis Response Task Force, Federation has allocated $6.8 million in funding for emergency COVID-19 relief beyond what the $23.3 million Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign supplies. These funds are helping stabilize the Jewish community and provide individuals and institutions with the assistance they need to weather the pandemic. To date, Federation has given financial support to our primary human services agency Jewish Community Services of South Florida for home-delivered meals, the Kosher Food Bank, mental health counseling, JWorks Miami employment program, senior socialization and more. Federation has also helped fund Miami's three Jewish community centers and 10 Jewish day schools.
