Federation Helps Care for Holocaust Survivors

survivor

For the second consecutive year, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation has been awarded a Holocaust Survivor Critical Supports Grant from The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) to care for Holocaust Survivors. Miami is one of nine Jewish Federations nationwide to share the grant funds, which support innovative programs that help Survivors live independently. Of the more than 80,000 Holocaust Survivors in the United States, approximately one in three lives in poverty. Many live alone and are at risk of social isolation, depression and other conditions. The $175,000 grant will bring together agencies and services that offer Survivors emotional, social and physical assistance. For more information, contact Fran Katz, Community Support Coordinator.
