Person-Centered Trauma-Informed Care

Older adults, especially those who have experienced trauma, need extra support as they age and Federation is working to educate interested individuals in the growing practice of Person-Centered Trauma-Informed Care (PCTI). Professionals working with Holocaust Survivors, aging immigrants, refugees and family caregivers are invited to attend a PCTI virtual training on Wednesday, April 14 from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. The program will explore the principles of PCTI — a holistic approach to caring for the elderly that supports their dignity and strength and helps them remain independent. Continuing education credits will be available for social workers. The workshop will also present a funding opportunity for organizations that serve older populations. The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) in conjunction with the U.S. Administration for Community Living and our Federation are supporting programs that serve this group.
