50 Years of Women’s Philanthropy

Miami’s Jewish women are leading the way in philanthropy, and together they will celebrate the impact of their giving at The Women’s Event, taking place on Wednesday, January 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Emanuel Luxury Venue in Miami Beach. The program will feature a candid conversation with Israeli-American actress and advocate for Israel Noa Tishby and guests will receive a signed copy her new book, Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth. A $500 suggested minimum donation to the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign is requested. Click here for more information and to RSVP by January 10. The Women’s Event comes just a few weeks after the The Jewish Federations of North America’s (JFNA) International Lion of Judah Conference in Phoenix, where 1,200 Lions gathered to celebrate the impact of their dynamic sisterhood on Jewish communities worldwide. Founded in Miami in 1972 by Norma Kipnis Wilson, z”l, and Toby Friedland, z”l, to honor a woman’s individual gift of $5,000 or more, the Lion of Judah has grown into an international phenomenon with 18,000 members raising more than $1 billion to date to aid Jews in need. A highlight of the Conference was the presentation of the Kipnis Wilson/Friedland Award to women who embody the spirit and vision of the Lion of Judah program, including Miami’s own Fran Berrin. Berrin again will be honored at The Women’s Event.<
