Federation Collecting Funds in Response to the Fuego Volcano in Guatemala
Approximately 70 people were killed after the Fuego Volcano erupted in Guatemala; many more are still missing.
More than 3,100 people have been evacuated and 1.7 million people have been affected by the eruption, according to CONRED, a government disaster agency.
Volcanic ash has covered a 12-mile radius, with officials warning that winds could further extend its lethal reach.
As part of the Jewish community’s response to help victims of the volcanic eruption, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation has established an Emergency Relief Fund to provide critically needed humanitarian aid to disaster victims and their families. One hundred percent of all contributions to this fund are being allocated directly to the relief effort.
