Women’s Philanthropy Marks 50th Anniversary of Lion of Judah

Maybe Norma Kipnis Wilson and her dear friend Toby Friedland, both of blessed memory, knew that instinctively back in 1972 when they created the Lion of Judah program right here in Miami. They recognized the generosity and the power of women working together and how it could change the world. 

This past Wednesday, Lions gathered for a special in-person celebration of this golden milestone, which is now an international phenomenon and includes over 18,000 women worldwide and more than 500 in Miami. Guests were inspired by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who shared a powerful message about leadership as the first woman and Jewish person in that position, her Jewish values, her upbringing and more. It was especially meaningful given this is Women's History Month. 

While we were there to celebrate, we are heartbroken over the recent loss of our dear Norma — may her memory be for a blessing.
