Residents of Yerucham Open Their Hearts During the Crisis

During the recent violence and terror in Israel, residents of Federation’s partner city Yerucham have displayed kindness and generosity. With a spirit that “we are all in this together,” Yerucham’s businesses, bed and breakfasts and hotels welcomed nearly 500 people from the Gaza envelope, an area within four miles of the Gaza border. The community opened its hearts, provided free lodging and stood in solidarity and strength with the visitors, giving them a much-needed break from the rocket fire. You can also show your support for Yerucham by emailing yerucham@jewishmiami.org. Send words of strength and hope, write poems, upload pictures and more to help comfort our friends. Federation established the Miami-Yerucham Partnership in 2007 to build relationships and strengthen both communities. Partnership programs promote mutually supportive initiatives, connecting resources and expertise to achieve sustained spiritual, social, cultural and economic growth for the two cities.
