Young Lion of Judah Program Offers Volunteer Opportunities

Students becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah before October 2022 have the unique and memorable opportunity to share their occasion with a Holocaust Survivor. Through the Young Lion of Judah program, a meaningful volunteer project offered by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Jewish Volunteer Center (JVC) and the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, pre-teens will be matched with Holocaust Survivors to develop a relationship and learn to tell their story. Young Lions will also attend programs on Holocaust education and serve their Jewish community through a special mitzvah project. As the Survivor population ages, it is more important than ever to memorialize their stories and encourage the next generation of Jewish leaders to continue educating others about the Shoah. The program begins on Sunday, October 24. For an application or more information on how to become a Young Lion of Judah, please contact JVC Director Lori Tabachnikoff at ltabachnikoff@gmjf.org or 786.866.8680.
