Description

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Yodeah’s SOS - Saving our Sisters community wide virtual event will inform about the 1 in 40 risk that Ashkenazi Jews have in carrying the BRCA mutation and how they can seek to reduce their chances in developing breast and/or ovarian cancer or treat it in it’s earliest stage.
The event will include personal stories from BRCA positive women and how they learned they were BRCA positive and the choices they made regarding their healthcare journey in order to reduce their chances of developing breast and/or ovarian cancer. Dr. Elizabeth Etkin-Kramer will also discuss hereditary cancers and what it means to Ashkenazi Jews. She will educate how cancer can be prevented or treated in it’s earliest most treatable state.
