    Deeply committed to Jewish causes, Ellen liked to refer to herself as a “professional volunteer,” who took her responsibilities seriously. Ellen Mandler was a President of Women’s Philanthropy and a Lion of Judah who always wished to endow her gift and become a Forever Lion. When Ellen passed away, her son Jeffrey Mandler used the funds from her estate to establish the Ellen Mandler Lion of Judah Endowment Fund to honor her memory and her many years of leadership and involvement in the Jewish community.
