One of America’s foremost broadcast journalists, Robert Siegel, who hosted NPR’s iconic “All Things Considered” for more than 30 years, will be premiering his new monthly series on JBS this week. Entitled “Global Connections: Navigating The New Abnormal,” Robert will engage in panel conversations with leading figures in the fields of medicine, finance, education, technology and a range of other topics that are most relevant to all of us during these tumultuous times. Jewish Incubator Grants 2021: Request for Proposals

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is now accepting applications for its 2021 Jewish Incubator Grants, which will award nonprofits eager to strengthen Miami’s Jewish community through innovative and impactful programs. This year, special consideration will be given to initiatives that support those affected by COVID-19 and programs that address the emerging needs of the community as a result of the pandemic. Organizations, synagogues, agencies and schools with compelling and creative ideas that support social service, educational or Jewish-identity building activities are invited to apply.

Applications are due no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020.

Scheck Hillel Community School is the first South Florida private school to announce that it will start its school year with Scheck Hillel @ Home: the school’s rigorous and personalized academic program for online instruction, prioritizing the health and safety of students’ families, faculty and staff.

Scheck Hillel Community School’s Summer School is now open for everyone, even for those who do not currently attend the school. This year’s program will be taught exclusively online. Qualifying students currently in Grades 6-12 have the opportunity to advance as well as recover credits (as determined by the student’s school) in courses they have not yet mastered.

Geometry Honors is offered for advancement to qualifying students, and all courses offered by Scheck Hillel during the school year can be taken in an accelerated format during Summer School. First semester courses are offered during Summer School’s first session (June 15-July 2), and second semester courses are offered during Summer School’s second session (July 6-July 24).

Eichmann Trial Remembered

In May of 1960, Mossad agents captured Adolph Eichmann in Buenos Aires and spirited him back to Israel where the mastermind of Hitler’s “Final Solution” would be put on trial for the public to learn the grotesque lengths Nazi Germany had implemented in their determination to “exterminate” the Jewish race from the face of the earth.
