Description

Sheba Medical Center is ranked among the top 10 hospitals in the world (Newsweek, 2019-2022) – the only one in the Middle East and the only outside of Europe and North America. Essentially Israel’s national hospital, Sheba is home to nearly all of Israel’s national health centers and institutes including the Rehabilitation Hospital that treats nearly every wounded IDF soldier, Safra Children’s Hospital, Israel’s National Burn Center, and the Israel Center for Medical Simulation. Located just outside of Tel Aviv, Sheba Medical Center has over 2,000 beds, 150 buildings and treats 1.6 million Israeli and international patients per year in-person, virtually using Sheba Beyond telemedicine equipment, and through numerous humanitarian missions to medical crises around the globe. Most recently, Sheba’s experts operated a field hospital in war-torn Ukraine, seeing over 2,000 patients during a six-week deployment. Physicians recently returned from Haiti treating burn victims, and Ethiopia and Zambia to treat epilepsy. Sheba plans to return to Ukraine to open a Sexual Assault Clinic to treat victims of war-crime rape, and to continue to enhance and improve local healthcare with trainings, staff exchanges, and the donation of medical equipment.
