Description

Please join us on Sunday, September, 29, 9:00 for a family friendly, morning program on the MBJCC Sol Stern Dock as we use the kayaks and canoes of the Mariner Program to help keep the Indian Creek Waterway clean in a pre-High Holiday - Reverse Tashlich! We will help the environment and help keep the intercoastal behind the JCC!

This is a program of the Tikkun HaYam - Repair the Sea organization which organizes Reverse Tashlich programs all over the world. Volunteers from the climate and environmental organization VolunteerCleanUp.org.

Bring your children and grandchildren! Lifeguards will be on duty.

A donation of $18 per person is requested (children under 12 are free). MB JCC Lifeguards will be present. Refreshments will be served!

A portion of the proceeds support the MBJC Mariners program and VolunteerCleanUp.org, a non-profit dedicated to clean beaches, water and ending single use plastics. They will be on hand to assist with nets, grabbers, buckets and other equipment.

What is a Reverse Tashlich?

Sponsored by the Jewish organization Tikkun HaYam-Repair the Sea, the Reverse Tashlich program, conducted worldwide, reimagines the High Holiday Tashlich ceremony of symbolically casting away sins into water. The symbolism is reversed: participants come together to clean up waterways that impact our lives, fostering a spiritual connection to and stewardship for the environment.

See you then!
