Event Details

Description

Timeless, dazzling, and distinctive — The Shvesters transform classic Yiddish melodies into sophisticated, contemporary harmonic jazz arrangements. The duo has garnered widespread attention, with coverage from outlets like The Jewish Journal, Voice of America, and The Grammys—and sold-out concert halls in New York, Paris, Tel Aviv, and beyond. The Shvesters are finally bringing their music to the stage in Pinecrest, supported by pianist Moshe Elmakias, with a performance that is sure to transport you to another world.

The Shvesters (Chava Levi and Polina Fradkin) are a Yiddish vocal duo hailing originally from Detroit, Michigan. They have gained a reputation for their perfectly synchronized voices (and signature matching outfits) — and quickly captivated audiences the world over. The Shvesters’ refreshing take on Yiddish oldies (tight harmonies, mouth trumpets, rhythmic grooves, and improvisational scatting) brings forth a breezy blend of playful swing hits and heart-tugging ballads.
