Description
Based on Isaac Bashevis Singer’s “Yentl, the Yeshiva Boy,” Barbra Streisand’s 1983 film Yentl probes into age-old questions about gender, Jewish practice, and ritual. In honor of JMOF-FIU's exhibition Hello Gorgeous, join us for a panel conversation revisiting themes in the film with Rabbi Efrat Zarren-Zohar, executive director of the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education, and Eli Sage Rosenberg, local LGBTQ and mental health activist. Moderated by Susan Gladstone Pasternack, executive director of JMOF-FIU. This program is co-sponsored by the Global Jewish Studies program and the School of International and Public Affairs at FIU.
