American Jewish Congress Southeast Region
2151 W. Hillsboro Blvd Suite 207 Deerfield Beach, Florida 33442
The American Jewish Congress is one of the oldest human rights organizations in the country, dating back to 1918 when it was founded by Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis and Rabbi Steven Wise. Often referred to as the "Attorney General to the Jewish Community", AJ Congress was the first Jewish organization to systematically use law and legislation, the instruments of democracy, to protect fundamental constitutional freedoms and democratize institutions, particularly the civil and religious rights and liberties of all Americans and the separation of church and state; to advance the security and survival of the State of Israel, America's only politically stable and democratic ally in the Middle East and to work for a secure peace in the region; to fight anti-Semitism, racism and all forms of bigotry; to celebrate cultural diversity and to promote a just society, women's equality and human rights at home and abroad.
